Invigorating single estate tea from the Rukeri plantation, on rich volcanic soils in the mountainous Northern Province of Rwanda.

Rwanda OP Rukeri Organic Tea has a fresh, sweet and slightly spicy aroma.  The brew is clean and invigorating and can be enjoyed with or without milk - perfect for the lover of black tea.

Taken plain, the tea is smooth and sweetly malt with a hint of spice and a mild refreshing citrus finish.  A dash of milk further rounds the complex flavour profile of this delicious tea.

The Rukeri Estate produces exceptional, hand-picked orthodox tea, sustainably grown by a dedicated collective of local Rwandan smallholders. The leaves are handled with extreme care during withering to ensure that consistently high quality tea reaches market in perfect condition.

Region & Growing Info

Rwanda

Rwanda’s tea production is rising rapidly, with black teas grown in the high-altitude regions around Lake Kivu and the northwest. Rwandan teas are known for their bright, brisk flavour and smooth, clean taste, with subtle floral and fruity notes. The volcanic soil and favourable climate contribute to the distinct quality of these teas.

Rwandan teas, particularly those from the Nyungwe and Gicumbi regions, offer a bright, premium, refreshing taste. The country’s tea industry is focused on producing high-quality, organic teas with minimal environmental impact like our organic, speciality Rwanda Rukeri. As the demand for premium, eco-friendly teas flourish, Rwanda is positioning itself as a key tea player in the global specialty tea market.
