A fine blend of China, Oolong and India teas with some smokiness and a hint of bergamot.

This blend gets its name from the historic camel caravans which transported teas from Chinese traders across the vast Russian steppes.

It is said that the light smokiness of this tea originally came from the campfires built along the caravan route though nowadays it comes from the blending of smoky Lapsang with the other leaves.

Region & Growing Info

China, India & Taiwan

This blended tea is from China, India and Taiwan.

China produces a diverse range of tea, with delicately, floral white teas from the hilltops of Yunnan to clean, alluring green teas, before moving to bold, dark teas such as earthy, decadent Pu-Erh.  There is indeed a tea for everyone.  Most tea is grown in the south of China with the climate being favourable for tea plants to mature slowly, growing spectacularly in cooler, higher elevations.

India is an incredible nation and is the top producing country of black tea with uplifting Darjeeling tea from West Bengal to the smooth, earthy full-bodied Assam tea. The camellia sinensis var. assamica varietal grows well in India’s hot and humid climate.

Formosa, or Taiwan as known today, is notable for producing exceptional semi-fermented oolongs. Oolong teas are semi-oxidised and are lighter in the cup, producing aromatic notes of orchid and a smooth finish on the palate.
