Region & Growing Info

Brazil

Brazil is a significant producer of black and green teas, primarily grown in the southern states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo. Brazilian Black teas are known for their mild, slightly astringent Flavour, while green teas tend to be fresh and lightly vegetal. The country’s tea industry is still developing, with a growing focus on premium teas and organic farming methods. Brazil’s unique climate and soil contribute to the distinctive flavour of its teas.

Brazil is also home to the herbal infusion, Yerba Mate. The infusion is made from Ilex paraguariensis plant, the South American holly tree. The plant grows wild across Paraguay, Northern Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, with well-established tea plantations in these areas.
