Lapsang Souchong Organic Tea
Our organic Lapsang Souchong is full-bodied, soft and spicy with a classic smoky accent.
Grown in Shaowu, in the Fujian province, Souchong refers to the large fourth and fifth leaves of the tea plant which are perfectly suited to the smoking processes. The beautifully regular worked leaf is streaked with anthracite tones and presents some golden tips.
Some claim that Lapsang Souchong was the first black tea produced in China. According to legend, passing armies of the Qing era caused the annual leaf drying to be delayed, requiring producers to dry the leaves over pinewood fires.
