The "Lovers Leap" estate is in the Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka at heights well above 2000 m.  Being grown at a high elevation the brew is a red/gold colour with a delightful balance of brisk robust taste and fragrant floral, citrus aroma.

The romantic name belies an unhappy story. Forbidden by her father the King to marry the man she loved, a local princess ran away with her beloved and, in despair, they jumped from a rocky outcrop to their deaths.

This is no reflection of the excellent teas grown on this estate!

Region & Growing Info

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, produces a wide range of black teas prized for their brightness and versatility which can be blended or enjoyed on their own.

Each region’s unique terroir influences the flavour of its teas, from the robust, malty, tangy and slightly sweet teas from lower altitudes to the delicate, floral and aromatic higher-grown teas.

Ceylon tea is known for its brisk, refreshing taste.
