Ceylon Pekoe Lovers Leap Black Tea
A smooth, even leaf, with green tones. Being grown at a very high elevation gives the liquor a light, golden colour with a delightful balance of robust taste and fragrant aroma. These are released upon brewing and include suggestions of citrus, fruit and flowers.
The "Lovers' Leap" estate is located in the Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka at heights well above 2000 m (6000 ft).
The romantic name belies an unhappy story. Forbidden by her father the King to marry the man she loved, a local princess ran away with her beloved and, in despair, they jumped from a rocky outcrop to their deaths.
This is no reflection on an excellent tea!
