For almost 100 years now, excellent teas have been produced in Mokalbari East. This tippy wiry, colourful second flush Assam tea can be enjoyed in one of two ways:

For a full bodied, robust tea brew for 4-5 mutes and enjoy malty aromas, with a robust spicy flavour and a slight creamy cocoa note.  Strong and reviving.  Add milk if desired.

Alternatively, try brewing twice, for one minute at a time - the first brew gives fruit aromas and soft sweet taste, the second brew becomes malty, with hints of rose, developing tannins and a clean slightly spicy refreshing aftertaste.

A genuine tea delicacy!

FTGFOP1 means Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe 1, grade 1 being the highest grade of leaf within this tea classification.

Region & Growing Info

India

India is a major producer of Black tea, particularly in Assam, Darjeeling, and Nilgiri. Assam teas are bold and malty, often used in breakfast blends. Darjeeling produces light, floral teas with muscatel notes. Nilgiri offers aromatic teas with a refreshing Flavour. India also produces green, white, and oolong teas, with Darjeeling and Assam producing premium, speciality single estate teas.

India's tea regions are characterised by distinct climate conditions that impart unique flavours. Assam’s tea, grown in the lowlands, is full-bodied and robust. Darjeeling’s high-altitude teas are light and muscatel. Nilgiri’s teas have bright, citrusy flavours.
