A Heritage of Elegance - the Season's Finest 

The most celebrated flush of the year has arrived!  We are so excited to introduce this year’s delicate and luxurious first flush Darjeeling.  Floral and balanced, a unique muscatel flavour immerses the palate.  Sweet and soft and distinctive in flavour, it is the perfect tea to be enjoyed by all. 

The historic Sungma tea estate, in the foothills of the Himalayas, was established in 1863 and now spans almost 282 hectares.  ‘Sanga-Maru’ was its original name from a long-lost Tibetan dialect, meaning a place where mushrooms grow wild and plentiful.  The estate has a rich history and, although devastated by an earthquake in 1934 it now thrives, producing some of the region's most sought-after teas.

Tip: Best enjoyed without milk.  Perfect paired with a slice of Victoria sponge cake or a glorious black forest gateau!

India

India is a major producer of Black tea, particularly in Assam, Darjeeling, and Nilgiri. Assam teas are bold and malty, often used in breakfast blends. Darjeeling produces light, floral teas with muscatel notes. Nilgiri offers aromatic teas with a refreshing Flavour. India also produces green, white, and oolong teas, with Darjeeling and Assam producing premium, speciality single estate teas.

India's tea regions are characterised by distinct climate conditions that impart unique flavours. Assam’s tea, grown in the lowlands, is full-bodied and robust. Darjeeling’s high-altitude teas are light and muscatel. Nilgiri’s teas have bright, citrusy flavours.
