Region & Growing Info

China

China is the world's largest producer of tea, offering diverse types including green, black, oolong, white, and Pu-erh. Famous regions include Zhejiang, home of our Dragon Well Lung Ching green tea, known for its fresh and nutty flavour. Yunnan produces rich Pu-erh with earthy, aged qualities. Fujian is famous for oolong teas like Tie Guan Yin, offering floral, creamy notes. Each region imparts distinct flavours from unique climates and terroirs.

China's tea culture is rich with tradition, emphasising handcrafting and meticulous processing methods. Green teas such as Lung Ching are pan-fried while Oolong teas are primarily hand-rolled. Pu-erh undergoes fermentation, creating a robust, earthy profile. China's commitment to organic and sustainable farming is growing, with many regions producing eco-friendly teas. The country’s vast landscape ensures a variety of flavours, from delicate, floral flavours to bold and distinguished flavours.
