Black Tea Berry Smoothie
Black Tea Berry Smoothie
Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1 cup brewed black tea, cooled (Assam or Darjeeling work well)
- 190g mixed frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.)
- 1 ripe banana
- 140g Greek yogurt (or a dairy-free alternative)
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ice cubes
Instructions:
- Start by brewing a cup of black tea (Assam or Darjeeling are good choices). Let it cool to room temperature.
- Once the black tea is ready, add it to a blender.
- Add the frozen mixed berries, ripe banana, Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative), honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ice cubes to the blender.
- Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more brewed black tea to reach your desired consistency.
- Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness with more honey or maple syrup if needed.
- Once everything is well blended, pour the black tea berry smoothie into a glass.
- You can garnish your smoothie with a few extra berries or a sprig of fresh mint for an extra touch of freshness.
- Serve your black tea berry smoothie immediately and enjoy its rich, fruity, flavour, with the added kick of a little caffeine from the tea.
This black tea berry smoothie is a delightful and refreshing choice for those who prefer a different tea base than green tea or chai. It’s packed with antioxidants from the berries and the black tea, making it a healthy and tasty option for breakfast.
