Brew Monday at the Tea House
Samaritans’ Brew Monday campaign is dedicated to preventing suicide and improving the UK’s mental health.
It takes place on the 3rd Monday of January, which is regarded by the media as the most depressing day of the year and often referred to as Blue Monday.
Brew Monday encourages friends and family to meet up for a cuppa and take time to talk and listen
A Samaritans Survey revealed that:
- Eight out of 10 people belive that getting together over a cup of tea for a chat makes them feel better.
- The vast majrotiy of people aged 18-24 (70 percent) said they would like more time to sit and chat.
- 80 percent of students in full time education believe people should talk over a drink more often during the day.
